As we finish up with the Love Cup I decided to end off the event with some Spice teams. I had a lot of fun playing the Scizor team over on our Twitch channel but there was plenty of other fun picks that I didn't want to miss out on. I have two teams that I would like to share with you today and I will be streaming with them later today. Team 1
Alomomola was the closer of choice throughout every team it was on in my Meta Guide article, but it is just as powerful as an opener. It catches Charizard and the Charmers, and Waterfall damage can chunk a lot of the meta. Blaziken is an insanely strong closer with Counter as a fast move, as well as having two nukes in Brave Bird and Blast Burn. It has a neutral match up with Charizard and beats everything else except Alomomola. Counter and Blast Burn is even enough to beat Charmers which we still take neutral from. Cherrim on the safe switch is fantastic with Bullet Seed and Weather Ball spam. We also have Solar Beam for one-shot potential against Alomomola and you could even run Hyper Beam to really dunk on the opponent. Team 2
Talonflame was so much fun in the Holiday Cup and I wanted to test it out here. During
my testing I did learn that Talonflame loses lead to Charizard running Wing Attack, but not to Fire Spin Charizard. Dragon Breath Charizard will destroy you so keep this all in mind when you come across this lead. Talonflame does great against the top of the meta with it only get slapped by Alomomola. You could run it on the lead as a Charizard proxy, but it can also be a deadly closer with Brave Bird to deal out tons of damage. Slowbro is a pretty thick boy and does beat Alomomola in the closing situations. Confusion deals tons of damage and you resist Waterfall. Ice Beam can offer clutch coverage against Vileplume and make the battle between the Counter users competitive. To finish off the team we have Clefable as our safe swap to Charm things down all day every day.
I hope you enjoyed this brief article and the spice picks that I included. As I mentioned earlier I will be streaming with these teams the same day this article goes up so check that out if you want to see the teams live. Thanks again for reading and Happy Valentines Day!
